Course Content

Our 1 day course will provide participating employees with the confidence and practical skills to manage basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations. It also provide the skills to help First Aiders manage specific medical conditions.

The course meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety & Ofqual regulations.

This course gives participants the skills and confidence to respond to a wide variety of accidents and first aid emergencies they could encounter in the workplace.

Our 1 Day First Aid at Work Course will give your workforce the first aid skills to help a colleague who is:

• unresponsive and not breathing

• unresponsive and breathing

• bleeding (minor & severe)

• having a seizure

• choking

• burns  (minor & severe)

It also includes information on:

• dealing with an emergency:

  • assessing a casualty

  • monitoring a casualty until emergency care arrives

  • where and who to get help from

  • electrical incidents

• accident recording and reporting

• control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH).

Each learner receives a training pack including a host of resources to help them practice the skills covered. The pack includes a course companion workbook, bandages and more.

Assessment

Our course offer a practical, hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation.

Being awarded with the Course Certificate is achieved through satisfactory completion of each module, continuous observation by the trainer and written assessments.

Course Participants must be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the course. HSE & OFQUAL require at least 18 training and contact hours for course qualification. Participants must attend the full duration of the course to be eligible for assessment.

Qualification

On successful completion of the 1 day course, you will receive the 1 Day First Aid at Work Certificate which is OFQUAL approved and valid for three years.

Location

We can present and deliver the course on your premises, however we will need to complete a room-check to ensure the room and location will allow appropriate communication and practical hand-on skills to happen. This will help to ensure employees get the most out of the course. We can also organise external training venues if this suits better Like to know more?
