Our 3 hour course will provide participating groups with the confidence and practical skills to effectively administer CPR and also How to use a Defibrillator in the event of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest emergency.

 The course meets the standards required to help comply with Northern ireland Ambulance Service, CIEH regulations, European Resuscitation Guidelines and Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.

       Our accredited 3 Hour course will provide your group with the following skills

 Part 1

1.       Speak about Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

  •     What is CPR

  •     Why do we do it in the case of Sudden cardiac Arrest

  •     How do we do it

  •     What is the medical theory behind CPR and what the desired outcome is

2.       The Trainer will then demonstrate CPR on his Medical mannequin

  •     Number of breaths

  •     Strength of breath

  •     Number of chest compressions

  •     Strength and breadth of compressions

  •     Signs of recovery

  •     Length of time to complete CPR for

3.       Trainee participants will then learn CPR under the Trainers supervision on the Medical mannequin

  •     Number of breaths

  •     Strength of breath

  •     Number of chest compressions

  •     Strength and breadth of compressions

  •     Signs of recovery

  •     Length of time to complete CPR for

Part 2

1.       Speak about Automated External Defibrillator  (AED)

  •     Understand when to use a Defibrillator

  •     Health & Safety aspects

  •     How to prepare a person for AED

          – (a)    shave chest / (b) dry chest / (c) remove any metal/jewellery

  •     Theory of why we use a Defibrillator in circumstances of Sudden Cardiac Arrest

2.       The Trainer will then demonstrate AED use on his Medical mannequin

  •     How to prepare a defibrillator for use

  •     How to use a defibrillator in real life circumstances

  •     Follow Instructions

Part 3.

  •    Trainee participants will then learn ‘How to use a defibrillator’ under the Trainers supervision on the Medical mannequin

The Trainer assesses each Trainee participant as the course as the course progresses and upon satisfactory completion of the

Course by each individual, an Accredited First Aid Certifitate on the Subject of CPR and AED Defibrillator use will then be issued to each participate.

Assessment

Our course offer a practical, hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use provide ‘CPR and How to use a Defibrillator’ in a real life situation.

The Trainer assesses each Trainee participant as the course as the course progresses and upon satisfactory completion of the

Course by each individual, an Accredited First Aid Certifitate on the Subject of CPR and AED Defibrillator use will then be issued to each participate.

Course Participants must be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the course.

HSE & OFQUAL require at least 3 training and contact hours for course qualification.
Participants must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.

Location

We can present and deliver the course on your premises, however we will need to complete a room-check to ensure the room and location will allow appropriate communication and practical hand-on skills to happen. This will help to ensure employees get the most out of the course. We can also organise external training venues if suits better
